Step-by-step itinerary
Natural waterslide and beach visit
- Experience natural rock waterslides
- Jump and swim in river areas
- Visit waterfall for photos
- Enjoy local authentic street food
- Free time at beach and shops
The experience
What makes this different from a standard rainforest tour is that you're not watching the water. You're in it. The guide takes you off the main trails to a private road locals use, then down a short hike to the natural rock waterslides. You get to slide, jump, and swim in the river itself, then move on to a waterfall with its own swimming hole where the water is cold and clear. The whole waterfall and river section is built around what you actually do there, not what you see from a distance.
After a couple of hours in the water, the day shifts. You head to the beach, and the guide treats you to a sample of authentic finger food: the kind sold on the street, not plated in a restaurant. You'll have free time to walk around, hit the shops, or grab a meal on your own if you want more. Bottled water and snacks come with the outing, so you're not hunting for drinks between the river and the beach.
The whole thing takes about five hours. A guide who speaks English leads the way and knows which spots are worth the hike and which ones the tourists miss. Children from age 1 can come along, though parents need to bring an infant seat if they're bringing a baby. The hike itself is short but the activity level is moderate. You're in and out of the water, moving between stops, so a baseline level of fitness helps.

Is this one for you?Five hours is enough to hit the waterslides, the waterfall, and the beach food without eating up your whole day, but it does rule out combining this with a long hike elsewhere or a full-day rainforest tour. If you want to swim and eat local in one outing without committing a full day, this fits the morning or early afternoon slot.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (1 to 11 years).
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can I actually swim and slide in the river, or is it more of a look-and-hike situation?
You slide down the natural rock waterslides, jump into the river, and swim in the water itself. The waterfall area has its own swimming spot where you can cool off. This is a water activity, not a viewing tour.
What's the hike like to get to the waterslides?
It's a short hike off a private road that locals know. The distance is brief enough that the focus stays on the water and the waterfall, not on a long trek through the forest.
Is the food included, or do I need to budget for lunch?
The guide treats you to a sample of authentic local street food at the beach. You'll also have free time to visit shops or restaurants if you want more, but the snack is part of the outing.
