Wreck Diving in Lagos: Ocean Revival Park Double Dive
Four navy wrecks waiting on the seafloor of the Algarve
A double dive in the Ocean Revival Park near Lagos puts you underwater at one of Europe's premier wreck sites, where four sunken navy ships sit on the seabed. Advanced divers descend to explore the wrecks themselves. Open water divers and non-certified guests can arrange a different site or a supervised try dive with an instructor. The operator is Portuguese and dives year-round, so the guide knows the conditions and the sites by heart.

The experience
The Ocean Revival Park exists for one reason: to give wreck divers the wrecks they came for. Four decommissioned navy ships rest on the seafloor, and the site was purpose-built to let recreational divers explore them. If you hold an Advanced Open Water certification, you descend to the wrecks themselves. If you're Open Water certified (level 1), the guide will take you to a different site that suits your level. If you're not certified at all, a try dive puts you underwater as a certified diver would be, but with an instructor at your side the whole time, so you get the experience without the certification requirement.
The dive runs four hours total. You'll need to be comfortable in the water and ready to follow the guide's lead. This is not a sightseeing tour where you watch from the boat. You operate the SCUBA equipment, and the guide handles the navigation and the safety. Bottled water and all gear (tanks, weights, regulators, the full setup) come with the booking. If you want to snorkel instead of dive on any part of the day, snorkelling equipment is included too.
The guide speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese or French, and children from age 8 can join. Talk with the operator before you book to confirm which dive site fits your certification level and what a try dive involves if you're not certified yet. They'll match you to the right experience and make sure you know what to expect underwater.
What’s included

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (13 to 18 years); Child (8 to 12 years). Children under 8 can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What are the four wrecks in the Ocean Revival Park?
The Ocean Revival Park holds four sunken navy ships, all positioned on the seabed specifically to create a wreck diving destination. The operator does not name each ship individually in the booking details, so ask them directly for the names and depths if you want to research the wrecks before you dive.
Can I dive the Ocean Revival if I'm only Open Water certified?
Open Water divers (level 1) cannot descend to the Ocean Revival wrecks themselves, as the site requires Advanced Open Water certification. The guide will take you to a different dive site that matches your level instead, so you still get a full dive experience in the Algarve.
What happens if I'm not a certified diver at all?
A try dive lets you descend and explore underwater with a certified instructor supervising you constantly. You'll operate the equipment and move through the water as a certified diver would, but the instructor stays with you the entire time. This requires a conversation with the operator beforehand so you both understand what the try dive includes.
How long does the whole experience take?
The dive runs four hours from start to finish, which covers both descents, surface intervals, and the time needed to get in and out of the water safely.
