The experience

The experience starts in the vineyard, where a guide walks you through the different grape varieties that go into Vinho Verde production. You'll see what grows where and understand why the blend matters before you ever step inside. Then the tour moves into the winery itself: the part most visitors don't get to see. You walk past the receiving area where grapes arrive, through the production floor, and all the way to the bottling line, with the guide explaining what happens at each stage.

After the tour, you settle in for the tasting: three Quinta de Santa Cristina wines, each one paired with a board of regional products. A vegan option is available if you need it. If children are with you, they get their own tasting of three different juices and cookies while the adults work through the wines. Before you leave, the winery shop is open if you want to take bottles or local products home.

The whole thing runs about 90 minutes. Parking is free, and the grounds are wheelchair accessible. The guide speaks English or Portuguese, so confirm your language when you book.
