The experience

The day starts with a drive to the island's major viewpoints and off-road sites, passing small farms along the way where your guide explains how they operate. This isn't a rushed loop. Mid-morning you reach a working dairy farm where you can watch cows being milked, taste the fresh milk straight from the operation, and try your hand at milking if you want to. Afterward, lunch happens at a relaxed location where you can walk around with a glass of wine or beer while the kitchen prepares your food. The meal is traditional island cooking: local meats, cheeses, bread, wine, beer and dessert included. This is the longest stop of the day, built in as a real break rather than a checkpoint.

After lunch the tour continues to a cheese and dairy factory where you see the full process: how they make cheese, milk products, yogurt, ice cream and packaged beef.
