ATV riding in Braga is a 2-hour off-road buggy drive through Peneda-Gerês National Park where you operate a Cfmoto vehicle yourself, not a passenger tour. You choose between a 2-seat or 4-seat buggy at checkout. Both include a guide, protective equipment, mandatory insurance and a €300 deposit per vehicle. Minimum age is 6 years or 1 meter tall, and a valid driver's license is required.

The Experience
You arrive 5 minutes before the scheduled time with your valid driver's license and ID, complete a 30-minute check-in, watch an instructional video, and sign the activity responsibility statement. The guide briefs you on the vehicle and defensive driving before you set out. You drive the buggy yourself for the full 2 hours. This is not a sightseeing tour where someone else handles the controls. The route covers 35 km across mountain and forest terrain, climbing to around 800 meters altitude with panoramic views over Peneda-Gerês National Park and the Atlantic coast beyond.
The trail is 70% off-road, which means deep forest sections, areas of steep unevenness, and mud or water for much of the year depending on weather. The guide leads from their own vehicle and monitors the group. You're responsible for the buggy and its occupants, and any damage from your driving or misuse comes out of your €300 deposit. Defensive driving and safe distance between vehicles are mandatory. If you collide with the vehicle ahead, you're liable. Bring clothes that can get soiled, water, and a change of clothes if you want one.
The activity suits drivers of all fitness levels, but it's not recommended for pregnant women, people with back problems, recent surgeries, respiratory issues or vertigo. Children must be at least 6 years old or 1 meter tall. Check the weather forecast before your date (IPMA) and arrive on time. There's no tolerance for delays, and check-in closes 10 minutes after the scheduled start.
