The Experience

I didn’t sleep much the night before — too wired thinking about finally seeing Machu Picchu. Our driver showed up at the hotel before sunrise, still dark out, and I remember the way the city lights of Cusco looked as we drove out. It’s a long ride to Ollantaytambo for the train, but honestly, watching the mountains wake up through the window made it feel like time folded in on itself.
