The experience

Costa Verde's cliffs rise above four Lima districts (San Miguel, Magdalena, San Isidro and Miraflores), and a powered paraglider lets you see them from the air instead of from the ground. You climb into a paratrike, a three-wheeled seat with a rear engine and a fabric wing, and launch from a flat esplanade. The pilot handles the takeoff and landing. Your job is to sit, watch, and hold on as the machine climbs to between 80 and 300 meters. The whole flight runs 10 to 12 minutes, long enough to pass over the coastline and see the city spread below.

Aeroxtreme has been flying this route since 1991 and operates with a team of licensed pilots. The company's founder, Michael Fernández, has logged over 14,000 flight hours. All equipment is included (you don't bring your own or rent separately), and the pilot briefs you on what to expect before you take off.
