The experience

Ica's vineyards produce Pisco, Peru's national spirit, and this tour moves through three working bodegas to see how it's made. You start at El Arrabal, touring the facilities and tasting their Piscos and wines. Then move to Bodega Nietto for the same: a walk through the winery followed by tastings of what they produce. The final stop is Lazo, where you tour the grounds, visit the winery museum and taste again. The whole sequence runs five to six hours, and hotel pickup and transport between the three sites are arranged for you.

A Spanish-speaking guide leads each stop, explaining the artisanal process at each bodega. The tastings are the core of the night: you're sampling the actual output of these small producers, not a generic tasting room. Lazo's museum adds context: the history and craft behind what you're drinking. The pace is built around the wineries' schedules, so you move at their rhythm, not a rushed itinerary.

Is this one for you?Five to six hours means the tour fills most of an evening but leaves your day free for other Ica sights: the Nazca Lines flights, the Ica Regional Museum or the dunes. If you're staying overnight in the city, this is a natural fit for after dinner or as an evening activity on its own.

What exactly is Pisco and why is it the main focus of this tour?

Pisco is Peru's national spirit, a brandy distilled from grapes grown in the Ica region. This tour centers on tasting it because the three bodegas you visit (El Arrabal, Bodega Nietto and Lazo) are known for producing it, and the guide explains the artisanal methods each winery uses to make their own versions and wines.

Do I visit the same kind of facility at all three wineries, or does each one offer something different?

Each winery follows the same structure (a tour of the facilities followed by a tasting), but they are separate producers with their own methods and products. Lazo also includes a museum visit, so that stop has an additional element the other two don't.

Is this tour only in Spanish, or can I join if I don't speak the language?

The guide leads the tour in Spanish. If you don't speak Spanish, you may want to arrange translation or confirm language options with the operator before booking.

What's included in the price, and what do I need to pay for separately?

Hotel pickup and round-trip transport between the three wineries are included, as are the facility tours and tastings at El Arrabal, Bodega Nietto and Lazo, plus entry to the Lazo museum. Food and any additional drinks beyond the tastings are not included.
