The experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel in Paracas and a one-hour drive to Ica. Once there, you head straight to a traditional bodega where Pisco is made. You'll watch the old method in action and taste a variety of wines and Pisco, Peru's national spirit, while learning how the drink is produced. This is not a museum display. You're at a working vineyard where the process still happens the way it has for generations.

After the bodega, the tour moves through Ica's main sights: the Cathedral of Señor de Lurén, the Main Square, and the Regional Museum, which holds remains from ancient cultures that inhabited the southern coast. Paracas, Nazca, Chincha, Wari and Inca. Then you drive southwest toward Huacachina, a lagoon ringed by palm trees and enormous sand dunes with views across the Ica Valley and desert. Here you get into a dune buggy and ride across the dunes themselves. The tour ends with the drive back to your hotel in Paracas.
