Cusco city tour and Inca sites

- See Tambomachay aqueducts and waterfalls
- Visit Pucapucara site
- Explore the Inca Museum
The Experience
The tour starts with hotel pickup and heads straight to Sacsayhuaman, the fortress that dominates the hillside above Cusco. Built on an elevated rocky promontory, it was the largest structure the Incas constructed, and the guide walks you through how the massive stone blocks fit together without mortar. From there you descend into the city to Koricancha, the temple that was probably the most important sacred site in the Inca empire — devoted entirely to worship ceremonies and built with calcite and andesite stone so precisely finished that it has survived three major earthquakes since the Spanish conquest.
The route then moves through Qenqo, a sanctuary with underground galleries carved into the rock (the name means "labyrinth" in Quechua), and Tambomachay, a series of aqueducts and waterfalls running through terraced rocks whose original purpose remains uncertain — it may have been a military outpost, a spa for the Inca elite, or both. Pucapucara rounds out the archaeological sites before the tour finishes at the Inca Museum, housed in a colonial-era mansion that was once the home of Huáscar during the empire. Your guide provides stories and historical context at each stop, and the air-conditioned vehicle handles all the transport between sites.
All admission fees and taxes are built into the price, so there's no stopping at ticket windows — you move straight through. The bilingual guide speaks English, Spanish, or Portuguese depending on your preference. The whole experience runs about six hours, and you can choose whether to book the private option (just your group) or the shared option (small group with other travelers).

Is this one for you?Book the private option if you want the guide's full attention and the flexibility to linger at any site; the shared option works well if you're traveling solo or want to meet other visitors and split the cost. Either way, the fixed hourly departures and included transport mean you're not arranging pickups or figuring out how to move between six scattered Inca sites across the morning.

What exactly is Koricancha and why is it so important?
Koricancha was the most sacred temple in the Inca empire, devoted entirely to worship ceremonies honoring the Sun deity Inti. Its walls are made of calcite and andesite stone fitted so precisely that they've survived three major earthquakes — 1650, 1749, and 1950 — without significant damage.
How many Inca sites do I visit on this tour?
You visit six sites total: Sacsayhuaman fortress, Koricancha temple, Qenqo, Tambomachay, Pucapucara, and the Inca Museum in the city center. The guide explains each one as you move through them.
What time can I start the tour?
Departures run every hour from 7am to 2pm. You choose your preferred start time when you book, and the tour lasts about six hours from pickup to drop-off.
Is hotel pickup really included?
Yes, hotel pickup and drop-off are included in the tour price. The driver collects you from your accommodation and returns you at the end of the morning.
Do I have to wait in line at any of the sites?

Can I book this as a private tour, or does it have to be shared?
You can choose at checkout: the exclusive private option is just your group with the guide and vehicle, or the shared option puts you with other travelers in a small group.
