The experience

The day starts with pickup from your Cusco hotel or the main square, then a 15-minute drive to the base in Tica Tica. A 10-minute safety briefing and riding training follows before you mount the TRX 250 ATV for the three-hour route itself. You operate the machine the entire time (no passengers, no watching from a vehicle) across terrain that takes you first to Piuray Lagoon, where you stop for 30 minutes to photograph the natural basin and meet locals wearing traditional Chinchero dress.

After 20 more minutes of riding, you reach Apukunaq Tianan, one of Cusco's newer attractions, and spend another 30 minutes there before heading back to the garage. The guide rides alongside throughout, speaking English or Spanish, and carries a first aid kit. Once you return to the base, the air-conditioned vehicle brings you back to Plaza Regocijo in central Cusco, ending the full four-hour outing.
