Buggy and sandboarding activity in Paracas combines 20 minutes of dune driving in a motorized buggy with beginner and intermediate sandboarding instruction on the slopes. The guide teaches safe technique, provides boards and all gear, and stops for desert photography. Private transportation is included. Children from age 3 are welcome.

The experience

You board a buggy after pickup and spend about 20 minutes navigating up and down the large and small dunes of the Paracas desert. The driver handles the route while you feel the momentum of each slope. The buggy stops at dunes with the right pitch and sand conditions for sandboarding, where the real activity begins.

Once on the slopes, your guide teaches you how to ride a sandboard safely, whether you're starting for the first time or you've ridden before. The boards and all protective gear are provided. You practice on the dunes while the guide watches and corrects your stance. Between runs, there's time to photograph the desert landscape and the dunes themselves.

The whole experience runs about an hour from pickup to return. The service is personalized to your group's size and comfort level, so the pace and intensity adjust to whether you're traveling with children, adults or a mix. Specialized infant seats are available if you're bringing very young riders.
