The experience
The day starts at the Inca Uyo Archaeological Complex, also called the Temple of Fertility, where you'll see 86 phallic stones carved by the ancient Inca as symbols of fertility. Your guide introduces the site's history and shares Inca stories while you observe the stones and meditate in the peaceful setting, connecting with both the place and its past.
From there you walk uphill through a forest of stones to reach Aramu Muru itself, the stone doorway that sits at the heart of this sacred site. After meditation among the stones, you move to the front of the door for the fire ceremony. This is where the offering happens: flowers, coca leaves, seeds and other symbolic items go into the fire as an act of gratitude to Pachamama, following the Andean practice of pago a la tierra. A reciprocal exchange with the earth that has been performed for more than 500 years. The spiritual guide uses plants and sacred rituals to help you connect with the place and the tradition, and you're invited to place your third eye at the contact point on the doorway itself, an act the operator describes as a personal, transformative connection.
Transportation from Puno and back is included, along with all the offerings used in the ceremony and a guide fluent in Spanish and English. The full experience runs six hours.
