Step-by-step itinerary

Zipline and wildlife sanctuary visit

  • Experience thrilling zipline over forest
  • Visit Sloth Sanctuary and learn
  • Explore Ranario frog species
  • See Butterfly Garden up close
  • Admire Orchid exhibits

The experience

You start with the zipline itself: a series of lines strung across the tropical forest canopy where you operate the equipment and slide between platforms, suspended above the greenery below. The rush comes from the speed and the height. The view comes from being up there long enough to actually see the forest stretch out around you. After you're back on solid ground, the guide takes you to the Sloth Sanctuary, where the animals move at their own pace through their habitat and you get close enough to watch their behavior and hear about how the sanctuary protects them.

The day also includes the Ranario, where you see the frog species that live in this part of Panama, and the Butterfly Garden, where the insects are on display at close range. The Orchid exhibits round out the stops. An air-conditioned vehicle picks you up from your hotel and brings you back when the day ends, and bottled water is provided throughout. The whole outing takes between 4 and 5 hours from start to finish.
