The experience
The tour starts with a drive to Murree, a hill station about an hour from Islamabad known for its cooler climate and pine forests. You'll spend time on Mall Road, the main outdoor market lined with textile boutiques, restaurants and shops, then head to Patriata for a cable car ride up the hillside with views across the surrounding peaks. The Governor House, a colonial-era building, rounds out the Murree portion: access to the interior is sometimes limited, but the grounds are worth the stop.
Back in Islamabad, you'll visit the Faisal Mosque, one of the largest in Pakistan, designed by a Turkish architect and set against the Margalla Hills foothills. The Pakistan Monument comes next, a structure inspired by Mughal architecture that sits on Shakarparyaan hill and is visible across the Islamabad-Rawalpindi area. Kashmir Point, a scenic hill station, includes a train ride or walking option. The day ends at Damane-e-Koh, a viewpoint on the Margalla Hills with 360-degree views of the city.
An English-speaking guide travels with you throughout. Lunch and snacks are provided during the tour, and entry tickets to the cable car, Pakistan Monument and Kashmir Point train are included. Hotel pickup and drop-off from Islamabad hotels are part of the booking.
