You’ll get up close to three unique fjords around Tromsø in a comfy electric Tesla, with stories from a local guide and time to relax at a cozy seaside café. It’s an easy way to see wild landscapes without crowds or noise.
Right after we left Tromsø, the city faded behind us and the road hugged the water’s edge. Our guide, Erik, kept things relaxed—he pointed out where reindeer sometimes wander close to the road (we didn’t spot any this time, but you could almost feel them nearby). The Tesla was so quiet that you could actually hear the wind rustling through the birch trees as we drove along Kvaløya. There’s something about that electric hum—no diesel smell, just crisp air and a hint of seaweed when we rolled down the windows near Kaldfjord.
We stopped at three different fjords—Kaldfjord first, then Ersfjord, and finally Grøtfjord. Each had its own mood. At Ersfjord, I noticed a couple of locals fishing off the rocks, chatting in Norwegian with their thermoses beside them. The light kept shifting—sometimes sharp and blue, sometimes soft with low clouds hanging over the peaks. Erik shared stories about how farmers used to row across these waters before roads were built. At Grøtfjord, we got out for a short walk on the pebbly beach; my boots crunched on bits of shell and I could smell coffee drifting from a house nearby.
Before heading back, we ducked into a small café perched above the shoreline—can’t remember the name, but they had fresh cinnamon buns and big windows facing the sea. I grabbed a coffee and just sat for a minute watching gulls swoop over the water. It was quiet except for our group’s laughter and someone’s spoon clinking against a mug. The whole trip felt easygoing—never rushed—and it was nice knowing we weren’t leaving any exhaust behind.
Yes, it’s relaxed and there’s no hiking involved—just short walks at stops if you want. The car is comfortable and warm suits are available if needed.
The group is small—up to 5 guests in a Tesla X or 4 in a Tesla Y. It never feels crowded.
You’ll want good shoes for walking on rocky beaches and maybe an extra layer—it can get chilly by the water even in summer.
Your guide will drive you in an electric Tesla and share local stories along the way. Bottled water is included, plus coffee or tea at a small café (cake if you’d like). Warm thermal suits are available on request. Photos from your trip will be uploaded to our photo webshop so you can relive it later.
