The experience
Three hours on the water means you get the full arc of the experience without the day disappearing into travel. You show up ten minutes early, get a brief introduction to the board and paddle technique, then launch into the fjord with your guide leading the way. The water is calm enough that even first-time paddlers find their balance quickly. The guide handles safety and navigation while you focus on the mountains rising straight up from the water and the wildlife moving through it. Seals, porpoises, sea-eagles and otters are common sightings, and on rare days moose appear on the shoreline.
The gear is sorted before you step on the board. You wear a drysuit if the water is cold, neoprene booties for grip, and a life jacket at all times. A waterproof phone case keeps your own camera dry if you want to shoot, but the guide is also taking pictures throughout the paddle. Those get sent to you after the tour ends. The pace is self-powered and unobtrusive. You set the rhythm and the guide adjusts the route to match the group's comfort and what the wildlife is doing that day.
Bring a bottle of water and dress for the weather: warm base layers under the drysuit in winter, shorts and a rashguard in summer. Snacks and sandwiches are welcome if you want to carry them. The meeting point is in Lofoten. Confirm the exact location when you book.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (12 to 18 years). Children under 12 can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the water like when I'm paddling in the Lofoten fjords?
The water is calm and clear, sheltered by the islands and mountains that ring the fjords. The guide chooses routes that stay protected, making it a relaxed paddle even for beginners. Seals and porpoises move through regularly, and the visibility is good enough that you can often see down into the water.
Do I need paddle boarding experience to join this tour?
No. The guide gives you an introduction to the board and paddle technique before you launch, and the pace is set by the group. Beginners and experienced paddlers go out together, and the guide adjusts the route and speed to keep everyone comfortable.
What happens if the weather turns cold or rough?
A drysuit is provided if you need one, and neoprene booties keep your feet warm and gripped to the board. The guide chooses the route based on conditions each day. If the fjord is too rough, you paddle in a more sheltered lagoon instead. Dress in warm layers underneath the drysuit in winter months.
Will I get photographs from the tour?
Yes. The guide takes pictures of you paddling throughout the three hours and sends them to you after the tour ends. You can also bring your own camera in a waterproof case if you want to shoot your own photos.
What wildlife might I see from the water?
Seals and porpoises are common sightings in the fjords. Sea-eagles hunt overhead, and otters appear along the shoreline. On rare occasions, moose come down to the water's edge. The guide knows where to look and will point out movement you might miss.
