This guided tour from Belfast visits the outdoor Game of Thrones filming locations south of the city, including Old Castle Ward (Winterfell castle), Inch Abbey (where Robb Stark became King in the North), and Tollymore Forest Park where the White Walkers first appear. The Experience

The tour departs Leonardo Hotel at 8am and heads south toward Old Castle Ward, where you'll spend the morning walking 3km through the locations used for Winterfell castle, Walder Frey's Twins, and Robb Stark's camp in the Riverlands. Before you arrive, there's a photo stop where you put on the Stark cloaks, pick up a sword and banner—these stay with you for the day and are the only costumes you'll wear. Your guide, someone who actually worked on set during filming, walks you through what each location was used for and shows VFX breakdowns on a tablet so you see how the scenes were built on top of what's really there.

The afternoon moves into Tollymore Forest Park for a second 3km trek through the woodland where the Night's Watch first encounters the White Walkers and where the Starks discover the dead direwolf and her pups. The forest is dense and the path winds through the exact spots where those scenes were shot. Weather permitting, the tour includes a 30-minute uphill walk to Hen mountain, where the opening scene of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" was filmed—the mountain's outline is distinctive and the view is wide, but the exposed ridge means this stop only happens if conditions allow it. Between noon and 1pm you stop at the Barn pub in Saul, Downpatrick, where you can bring a packed lunch or order a hot meal (paid separately).

The walk totals 6km across the day, split between two forest areas, so comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing matter. Guides speak English and deliver live commentary on the minibus between stops. All entrance fees to Castle Ward and Tollymore Forest Park are included, as are the cloaks and swords. The tour ends with a drop-off at Jurys Inn hotel, Great Victoria Street, by 6pm.
