The Experience
You start in West Belfast at the International Wall, part of the Peace Wall, where murals depict events and figures from around the world. From there the tour cuts a zig-zag path through the city, stopping at Windsor Park (home to Linfield football club and the Northern Ireland national team), then Queen's University, which has stood in Belfast since 1845. The Botanic Gardens sit alongside the Ulster Museum, an institution that has existed since 1833.
As the tour moves into the city centre, you see the Europa Hotel—the most bombed hotel in Europe—and Belfast City Hall, completed in 1906, before a short trip to St Anne's Cathedral. Next is Crumlin Road Gaol, then Belfast Castle. The route finishes in the East with the Titanic Museum and a close look at the H&W Cranes, known as Samson and Goliath, the massive shipyard structures that dominate the skyline. When the tour ends, you're returned to your pickup point.
A live guide narrates the stops and the history as you move through the city. Bottled water is provided throughout the three hours. The tour suits all fitness levels, and infants or small children can ride in a pram or stroller. Public transportation options are available nearby if you prefer to make your own way to the meeting point.
