The experience

You spend 2.5 hours at the winery tasting six wines (two white and three red, plus one red wine liqueur) alongside three rakijas and a brandy, each paired with a specific Macedonian dish. The guide walks you through the production facilities and wine cellar first, so you understand how the wines are made before you taste them. The food pairings move through fresh fruit with local honey, then goat cheese with hot red peppers and green figs, then a mixed platter of cured meat, dairy and ajvar with bread, finishing with rakija.
