The experience

You've got an afternoon free in Wellington and want to taste what the local breweries actually make, not just read about them. This tour picks up from your hotel or cruise ship and takes you to three working breweries where you taste directly from the tap. At Baylands you work through four beers from their range; at Panhead you try their current selection on tap; at Garage Project you sample from their tap bank. A local guide drives the van and talks through what each brewery does and why they make what they make.

The route covers Wellington and the Hutt Valley, and the whole thing runs four hours. You're tasting, not touring a facility. Each stop is built around the beers themselves and the people behind them. The guide handles the driving and commentary, so you can focus on the beer. Pickup and drop-off happen at your hotel or cruise port, and all tasting fees are covered in the price.
