Between the boat trip and the return journey, you have free time in Kaikoura township to walk around, grab a coffee, or take in views of the snow-capped Kaikoura Ranges. You'll also visit a fur seal colony on land during the day. The whole experience runs about 11 hours door to door, wrapping up with the scenic drive back to Christchurch in the late afternoon.
