Experience the thrill of 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds skimming the water’s surface

Jet Sprint Boating in Gibbston Valley near Queenstown puts you in one of the world's only four-seater Jet Sprint Boats for a 10-minute ride on a custom-built course with sharp turns around islands and extreme acceleration. You ride as a passenger with a professional driver and two other riders, wearing a provided spray jacket, helmet and sunglasses, after a safety briefing.

The experience

The boat carries three passengers plus a professional driver who navigates a private racetrack designed around a series of islands. You accelerate from 0 to 100km in just 2.5 seconds, then the driver takes you through tight turns and high-speed maneuvers on water you won't find anywhere else. These four-seater Jet Sprint Boats are unique to Oxbow and don't exist anywhere else in the world. The whole ride lasts 10 minutes, but the speed and the sharp course mean it feels like far longer.

Before you board, you get a safety briefing and gear: a sturdy helmet, spray jacket, hairnet and sunglasses. The boats are regularly inspected and maintained to the highest safety standards, and the driver handles all the piloting while you sit back and experience the acceleration and the water handling. The course is designed so you're constantly navigating around obstacles, which is what makes the ride feel like flying.

What’s included

  • Safety briefing before the ride.
  • sturdy helmet, spray jacket, hairnet and sunglasses for each passenger.
  • professional driver and custom-built 4-seater Jet Sprint Boat for the 10-minute experience on the private racetrack.
