The experience
You arrive at the studio in Choorstraat and spend the session working on an electric pottery wheel. The guide shows you how to center the clay and shape it: no prior experience is needed. You'll work on different pieces during the 3.5 hours, then pick your favorite to finish. The studio takes care of everything after you leave: the piece dries for about ten days, gets fired once, is glazed with a color you choose from the options provided, and is fired a second time. After roughly three weeks, you return to collect it from the store.
During the break halfway through, you can order coffee or tea with cake, or upgrade to a glass of prosecco with nuts. The guide works in English, Italian or Dutch depending on the group, and the workshop suits anyone aged 16 and up, regardless of fitness level. The studio provides all clay, tools and equipment. You bring only your hands and willingness to get them dirty.
