Den Bosch riddle tour: Solve puzzles to explore the city
You navigate by solving riddles, not by following a map.
This self-guided riddle tour of Den Bosch sends you through the city solving puzzles on your smartphone to recover a stolen painting by Jheronimus Bosch. You play alone or with others on one device, moving between the main square, Jeroen Bosch Park, the Art Center and quieter streets like Rozemarijnstraatje. Hints keep you moving if you get stuck, and the whole route takes one to two hours at your own pace.

The experience
The tour works like this: after you book, you get an email with a link and access code. Open it on your phone whenever you're ready, and the riddles start. Each one sends you to a real spot in Den Bosch: the main square with its monumental buildings and cafes, a small park dedicated to the painter Jeroen Bosch with wall art inspired by his work, the Jheronimus Bosch Art Center in a former church, a statue on Hekelaan that appears in one of Bosch's paintings, and the narrow Rozemarijnstraatje with four statues at its edge. You solve the puzzle at each stop to move to the next one.
This is not a guided tour with someone talking at you. You play on individual smartphones or share one phone with your group, moving through the city at whatever speed works. The riddles test how well you observe what's around you: the architecture, the details, the hidden corners. If a puzzle stumps you, hints are built in so you never get truly stuck. The whole thing takes between one and two hours depending on how long you linger at each spot, and you can start whenever you want after you receive your access code.
Den Bosch itself is the real draw here. The city is also called 's-Hertogenbosch, and it's built around little canals and historical streets that make sense once you're walking them with a reason to look closely. Saint John's Cathedral dominates the skyline, and the squares and alleys hold centuries of detail. The riddles are the excuse to actually see it instead of just passing through.
