The route starts with a ferry ride across the River IJ from behind Amsterdam Central Station, carrying your e-bike with you. Once in Amsterdam North, you pedal through green parks and along an old canal into the polder landscape—flat, open country crisscrossed by water and dikes. The guide stops at the windmill d'Admiraal, one of five windmills still standing in Amsterdam, and explains its history before you move on through the villages of Zunderdorp and Ransdorp, where you'll see the old city hall and, in summer, can climb the tower for views across the lowlands.
