Explore Walvis Bay and Pelican Point

  • Visit flamingos at the lagoon
  • Travel to Pelican Point Peninsula
  • Have lunch at Pelican Point

The experience

This tour moves through three distinct landscapes in a single morning or afternoon. You start at Dune 7, the highest dune in the area, then travel off-road to the very tip of Pelican Point Peninsula, where you'll see Cape fur seals and learn how the salt ponds work. The refining process is visible from the peninsula itself. The route ends at Walvis Bay Lagoon, where thousands of flamingos gather, along with other seabirds that make the shallow water their home.

Hotel pickup and drop-off bookend the day, and a local guide leads the whole route in English. Lunch is included at Pelican Point, along with light refreshments and beverages throughout. The off-road sections require at least moderate fitness, but the pace is built around a small group, never large tour-bus crowds, so the guide can stop when wildlife appears or when someone wants a closer look.
