The Experience

The guide meets you at your hotel at 08:30 with an e-bike ready to ride. The route starts at the local market—the working heart of Bagan where you see fruit vendors, fresh produce and dry goods—then moves through Myinkaba village, famous for its lacquerware workshops where locals still hand-craft the pieces. From there you ride to Dhammayangyi Temple, the largest on the plains, shaped like an Egyptian pyramid, before breaking for lunch at a restaurant of your choice.

The afternoon takes you to Ananda Temple, an 800-year-old pagoda with four standing Buddha figures inside, where the guide explains its history and legends. A stop at a typical tea shop follows—the kind locals use—where you drink Myanmar sweet tea and taste local snacks and delicacies. Then Sulamani Temple, one of Bagan's most attractive, sits behind surrounding walls with lush grounds. The day ends at an elevated viewpoint where you watch the sunset over the plains before riding back to your hotel.

The e-bike itself does the work on sandy roads and quiet paths, so you move through the countryside without the noise of a car or the effort of pedaling uphill. The whole tour runs 7 to 8 hours. Water bottle and English-speaking guide are included; lunch you arrange and pay for separately.
