The experience

The day starts with pickup from your Marrakech hotel and a drive through Berber villages toward the Atlas Mountains. The route itself is the first stop: passing the countryside gives you a sense of the landscape before you arrive anywhere. ANIMA Garden comes first, a 3.5-acre botanical space created by artist André Heller with exotic plants, water features and sculptures set against mountain views. You walk through at your own pace and take photos. Admission is separate from the tour price.

From there you head into Ourika Valley proper. A visit to an authentic Berber house shows how locals live and work, including a look at a traditional hydraulic mill and the process of making Argan oil by hand. Then comes the guided walk through the valley itself: the path to Setti Fatma's waterfalls follows the river through lush terrain and leads to a series of cascades and pools. The rocks are steep and uneven in places, so sturdy shoes matter. You can arrange lunch nearby if you want to eat before or after the walk. The day ends with the drive back to your hotel.

The tour operates with either shared transport (groups of 3–6 or 7–15 travelers) or a private vehicle for your party alone. A professional driver speaks English or French. If you want deeper context about the valley's culture and history, a local Ourika guide is available as an add-on.
