The trek starts with a hotel pickup in Marrakech and a transfer to Imlil, a small village tucked into the Mizane Valley where the real walking begins. Day one takes you past the village of Aremd and up to the shrine of Sidi Chamarouch, a pastoral spot where pilgrims and trekkers cross paths, then onward through mule tracks and rocky cliffs as the trail climbs steadily toward the snowline. You'll reach the refuge at 3206 meters by evening — about six to seven hours of walking, with a local English-speaking guide leading the way. A cook prepares meals, and mules carry the luggage, so you move light.

Day two is the summit push. You leave early, cross the stream above the refuge, and climb the south cirque toward the peak. The walking is straightforward but the scree and altitude make it harder than it looks; most people feel the thin air by the time they're scrambling over the final slopes.
