Quad Biking Palmeraie Marrakech: Oasis & Berber Ride
Ride through palm groves and river valleys instead of sitting in a tour van
A quad biking activity in Marrakech's Palmeraie that takes about 2 hours and covers mountainous terrain through oasis, plains, rivers and Berber villages. You ride your own quad, stop for tea and Moroccan pancakes with locals, and return with helmet and transport included. The route works for both beginners and experienced riders, with a live guide in English, Spanish or French.
Step-by-step itinerary
Quad biking through Palmeraie Marrakech
- Start quad biking excursion
- Explore palm grove and plains
- Cross Berber villages
- Stop for tea and Moroccan pancakes
- Return from quad biking tour
The Experience
You're picked up from your hotel and driven to the Palmeraie, the palm grove that rings Marrakech's outskirts. Once you're suited up with a helmet, you mount the quad and follow the guide into terrain that shifts between dense palms, open plains, dry riverbeds and patches of cultivation. The ride isn't a race—the pace stays steady enough for someone who's never handled a quad before, but the ground itself keeps things interesting: sand, rock, water crossings and the kind of uneven footing that makes you feel the machine under you.
About halfway through the 2-hour run, you stop at a Berber village. The guide leads you to a home where residents offer mint tea and Moroccan pancakes. It's not a performance—it's the kind of stop where you sit, eat, and the conversation happens if it happens. Then back on the quad for the second half, pushing deeper into the palm groves and across more open ground before the ride loops back to the vehicle and your hotel.
The guide speaks English, Spanish or French and rides with the group. Helmets are provided. Transport to and from your hotel is included, which means you don't coordinate a separate transfer or navigate to a trailhead on your own. Children can join from age 14.
What’s included
- Helmet.
- air-conditioned vehicle transport to and from your hotel.
- mint tea and Moroccan pancakes at a Berber village stop.
- live guide in English, Spanish or French.

Is this one for you?You ride the quad yourself—it's not a guided tour where you sit and watch. This suits someone with an afternoon free who wants to move through the landscape under their own control, not someone looking for a relaxed sightseeing ride in a vehicle. Beginners are welcome, but you need to be comfortable handling a machine and sitting upright on uneven ground for stretches at a time.

Can I ride a quad if I've never done it before?
Yes. The Palmeraie route is designed for both beginners and experienced riders, and the guide sets a pace that works for someone handling a quad for the first time. The terrain—oasis, plains and riverbeds—gives you room to build confidence without steep technical sections.
What happens during the stop in the Berber village?
You stop at a village home where residents serve mint tea and Moroccan pancakes. It's a chance to rest, eat and see how people live in the area the quad route passes through, without a scheduled performance or sales pitch.
How long is the actual riding time?
The excursion runs about 2 hours and 15 minutes total, which includes the ride through the Palmeraie, the village stop, and the return. Most of that time is on the quad.
What's included in the price?
Helmet, tea and Moroccan pancakes at the village stop, and hotel pickup and drop-off are all included. You bring sunscreen and water; the guide provides the rest.
What kind of terrain will I ride on?
The Palmeraie route crosses oasis, plains, riverbeds and cultivated areas. The ground is a mix of sand, rock and packed earth, with some water crossings. It's not a highway—it's the kind of uneven ground that makes quad riding feel real without being extreme.
