The experience
You're paddling your own packraft through a UNESCO World Heritage canyon that most people see from a bridge or a crowded tour boat. The Tara River Canyon is Europe's deepest, and from water level (especially under the 150-meter span of the Đurđevića Tara Bridge). It looks nothing like the postcard view. An intro clinic on the bank teaches you the strokes and safety before you push off, so no prior experience is needed. The guide stays close and keeps the group small enough that you move at your own pace through the calm stretches and the Grade II rapids.
The route includes a stop at the Ljutica, one of Europe's shortest and most powerful rivers, where the water is ice-cold and drinkable. Full gear comes with you: packraft, wetsuit and anorak, neoprene booties, helmet, paddle and dry bag. The 4-hour paddle covers the section where the rapids are exciting enough for thrill-seekers but safe and manageable for adventurous families. National park entrance and river taxes are included. The guide is licensed by the International Rafting Federation and speaks English.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the Đurđevića Tara Bridge like from the water?
The bridge spans 150 meters above the canyon, and you'll paddle directly beneath it. From water level, the perspective is nothing like the view from the bridge itself. It's the shot most packrafters come for.
Do I need to know how to packraft before I book?
No. An intro clinic on the bank covers strokes, safety and technique before you paddle, and the guide stays with the group throughout. First-timers and families with moderate fitness are welcome.
What happens at the Ljutica stop?
The Ljutica is one of Europe's shortest and most powerful rivers, and you'll paddle into it during the tour. The water is ice-cold and clean enough to drink. It's a hidden gem most rafters miss.
How big are the groups?
Groups are strictly limited to keep the experience personal and safe. You move at your own pace through the calm sections and the rapids, not locked into a large raft's rhythm.
What gear do I bring, and what's provided?
The operator provides packraft, wetsuit, anorak, neoprene booties, helmet, paddle and dry bag. Bring a towel, a change of clothes and any personal items you want to keep dry in the bag.
