The experience

Škurda Canyon starts from the Austro-Hungarian dam and drops through a series of descents, each over 20 meters, ending at the walls of the Old Town near the city water supply. The 90-minute route covers the last third of the canyon, the most dramatic section, where you rappel down successive waterfalls using ropes, harnesses and the technical setup your guide provides. The canyon is extremely beautiful, with rock walls and water throughout.

Your guides are members of the Mountain Rescue Service of Montenegro, trained alpinists and rescuers in fast water who have led expeditions to the Alps, Andes, Denali, Caucasus and Himalayas. They know the canyon intimately and manage the rope systems and your descent. You wear a neoprene suit, neoprene socks and helmet for the water and rock. All equipment is supplied. Insurance is included in the booking.

Pickup is arranged from your hotel or a meeting point in Kotor. The activity requires at least moderate physical fitness and is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy or poor cardiovascular health. Participants must be at least 18 years old. A CD with photos and videos from the descent is included.
