The experience

The Bay of Kotor is one of the most beautiful bays in the world, ringed by villages and churches dating back to the 12th century. From a kayak, you see the coastline and the medieval architecture from the water instead of from a crowded shore. The paddle takes you past a 17th-century fishing village and a 16th-century village, close enough to see the local churches and palaces but far enough out that the bay itself is the main event. A live guide in English leads the way and points out what you're paddling past.

You spend time in the water too. The tour includes snorkeling gear, and the Adriatic here is clear enough that it's worth using. There's a beach stop where you can swim and relax before paddling back.
