You’ll ride through Tulum by e-bike with a local guide, swim and snorkel in three unique cenotes—including famous Gran Cenote—and enjoy an authentic Mayan lunch. It’s an easygoing way to see hidden spots and learn about local culture without feeling rushed.
Sunlight was already warming the pavement as we rolled out from the meeting spot, e-bikes humming quietly beneath us. Downtown Tulum wakes up slow—vendors setting up fruit carts, the smell of tortillas drifting from a side street. Our guide, Diego, waved us through traffic and pointed out a mural I’d have missed on my own. It’s not far to Gran Cenote, but you feel the shift as city sounds fade and jungle takes over. At Gran Cenote, cool air hit my face stepping down into the cave. The water looked almost too clear to be real—tiny fish darting around our toes while we snorkeled under limestone arches. Diego explained how cenotes were sacred to the Maya; honestly, it’s easy to see why when you’re floating there in the quiet.
Back on the bikes, we zipped past little tiendas and then onto a dirt path that felt like a secret shortcut. The ride to Cenote Cristal is mostly shaded—good thing, because Yucatán sun doesn’t mess around. At Cristal, we dropped our bags under a palapa and jumped straight in. There’s something about swimming here that makes you forget your phone exists. Lunch was simple but perfect: cochinita pibil tacos from a family-run stand nearby (I still think about their habanero salsa). Last stop was Escondido—locals call it “Mayan Blue.” It’s less crowded than the others; just birds overhead and the sound of water lapping against rocks. We floated for ages before heading back, tired but happy.
