The experience
The day begins with pickup from your Mexico City hotel and a drive to the launch site. After a coffee break, you board the balloon for a 35 to 50 minute flight over the pyramids and surrounding valley. The height and angle give you a view of the site's layout that ground-level walking never quite delivers: the way the Avenue of the Dead cuts through the complex, how the smaller structures fan out from the main pyramids, the scale of what the ancient city actually was.
Once you land, breakfast arrives: Mexican food prepared on-site, eaten with the other travelers in your group. Then it's back to the pyramids themselves. You walk the Avenue of the Dead and visit the Sun and Moon pyramids, with time to climb if you want to. The guide walks the group through the site. Entry to the pyramids is included, so there's no separate ticket line. The whole experience runs about six to seven hours from pickup to return.
This is a shared tour, so you travel with other visitors, usually a small group. The balloon flight is the centerpiece. Everything else (transport, breakfast, pyramid entry, the guide) is arranged around it. Children from age six are welcome. The weight limit is 110 kg per person, and the tour is not recommended for pregnant travelers or anyone with spinal or cardiovascular concerns.

Is this one for you?Book this tour if you want to see Teotihuacán from the air before exploring it on foot. The balloon flight gives you the site's geography in a way walking alone doesn't. The shared format and fixed schedule keep the price down and the day to about six or seven hours, so it fits easily into a Mexico City trip without eating the whole day.
