Operate your own ATV across the sand and water, then settle into your own table at the beach club.

ATV riding on Stone Island is a five-hour activity from Mazatlan that combines an adrenaline ride on the beach with downtime at a beachfront club. You're picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle, ferried across by catamaran or Panga boat, and given your own table, chairs and shaded area after the ride. A live guide speaks English and Spanish. Children from age one can join.

The experience

The day starts with pickup from your Mazatlan hotel (the Golden Zone, Ocean Avenue or Old Town), and ends at the pier near the Mazatlan Lighthouse. From there, a ten-minute catamaran or Panga boat ride takes you to Stone Island. The ride itself is the centerpiece: you operate an ATV across the beach, moving at your own pace through the sand and shoreline. After you're done riding, you move into the second half of the day: a reserved table, chairs and shaded spot at the Beach Club where you can rest, swim or just watch the water.

The whole package includes the round-trip ground transport in an air-conditioned vehicle, the boat crossing both ways, and the ATV itself. A live guide in English or Spanish is with the group throughout. Kids from age one ride along: infants sit on an adult's lap, and older children can ride their own ATVs or sit with a parent. The activity suits all fitness levels, and the site is wheelchair accessible if you need that accommodation.

An optional add-on available at checkout bundles food, an open bar, water sports and a horse ride for an extra cost. Without it, you get the ride, the beach club time and the drinks that come on arrival.
