Step-by-step itinerary

The experience
You meet at the bike rental shop in downtown Sayulita and get fitted with a full suspension mountain bike, helmet, gloves and water bottle. The guide will assess your ability and take you out on one of two trail systems: the Punta Sayulita MTB Tour for beginners, which heads toward the beach on flatter terrain, or the Malpaso Singletracks for intermediate and advanced riders, which climbs into the mountains and opens up to flowing descents. Both routes can be adjusted to match your skill level on the day.
The riding happens entirely on singletrack through dense jungle, crossing streams and navigating tight, technical sections. You'll stop along the way to look at the flora and fauna, or to try a short challenging passage if you want to push your skills. The scenery stays green and lush the whole time, and the trails themselves are maintained by profits from these tours: money that goes directly back into building and improving the local trail network.
Most rides take about two hours of actual riding time. If you're an advanced rider, you can keep going for up to 2.5 hours of non-stop riding. The tour ends back in town, and you can add on a visit to Playa de Los Muertos (Dead Man's Beach) on your own afterward if you want. It's a quieter beach accessible by bike, with swimming, snorkeling and a small cliff jump depending on the tide.
