Private Surf Lesson in Sayulita: Learn to Ride Waves

Most guests are riding waves by the middle of the session.

A private surf lesson in Sayulita teaches you positioning on the board, how to stand up and how to catch waves, with a live instructor in English or Spanish. The lesson runs three hours and includes a soft-top surfboard, rashguard, booties, towel, changing room and outdoor shower. Children from age 5 are welcome.

The experience

The lesson starts with the fundamentals: how to position yourself on the soft-top board, when to pop up, and what to do once you take the wave. Your instructor covers these skills on the sand before you paddle out, so you know what to expect when you hit the water. Most guests are riding waves by mid-session, and the rest of the three hours goes into building on those skills and getting comfortable in the water.

You have access to a changing room, an outdoor shower station to rinse off sand and saltwater, towel service, Wi-Fi and a rest area between or after your time in the water. The soft-top board is forgiving for beginners, and you also get a rashguard and booties included, so you can focus on learning instead of worrying about the gear or the sun.
