The experience

The session runs two hours, timed so you're on the water as the day cools and the sky starts to shift color. A guide meets your group at the beach and walks through the basics if you've never stood on a board before. It's the kind of thing that feels harder to explain than to do. You get a board, paddle and leash. If the water and weather cooperate, snorkel gear comes along too. The pace is unhurried: you're paddling, not racing, and the guide stays close enough to answer questions and adjust your stroke if something feels off.

The group is small enough that you're not jostling for space, and mixed enough that you'll meet other people who showed up solo or with a friend. A lot of paddleboarders come back because it's one of the few ways to be on the Caribbean without a boat, and the sunset timing means you're not fighting the midday heat or the afternoon wind. After you're back on shore, you can rinse off in the shower, stash your things in storage, and grab a drink at Fusion Beach Bar or Muza Surf Bar with a 15% discount if you order something to eat or drink.

The guide speaks English, Spanish or Dutch depending on the group, and the whole thing is built around people trying paddleboarding for the first time. You'll need at least a moderate level of fitness (paddling uses your core and shoulders), and the minimum age is 12.
