The Experience
The catamaran leaves Puerto Aventuras marina and heads north for about an hour to In-Ha, a semi-sheltered reef where the water stays calm and clear. You'll snorkel here and see sea turtles, tropical fish and other reef life while the crew serves snacks, cocktails and freshly made shrimp and fish ceviche. If you'd rather stay onboard, you can sunbathe and drink from the open bar instead—snorkeling is optional. Once everyone's back on deck, the boat cruises to La Bocana, a shallow, clear finale stop where many finish their lunch and cocktails right in the water while your favorite music plays.
The tour includes snorkel gear, towels, life jackets and troll fishing equipment. If you want to fish, anything you catch along the way goes to the chef, who prepares it fresh onboard with a family sauce. The open bar runs the whole time—tequila, rum, vodka, Mexican beer, bottled water, soft drinks and juice. The return to the marina is slow and leisurely so you can keep enjoying the coastline views and the bar.
A live guide speaks English and Spanish throughout. The boat has a restroom onboard. Children under 18 need an adult with them, and the minimum drinking age is 18; infants and small children can come in a pram or stroller. Wheelchair access to the boat is possible, though water activities depend on safety requirements.
