Jungle Bike Tour from Playa del Carmen with Cenote Swim
Sixteen kilometers of jungle trail on a mountain bike, ending in a cenote you swim into.
A jungle bike tour from Playa del Carmen covers 16 km of forest trails on a mountain bike, with a guide in English or Spanish, and finishes with a swim in a cenote fed by underground water. The tour includes bikes, helmets, an air-conditioned vehicle for transport, and hotel pickup. Children from age 12 are welcome.
The Experience
The day starts with pickup from your hotel in Playa del Carmen and a drive to the trailhead. Once there, you ride a mountain bike through jungle terrain for the full 16 km loop, observing the flora and fauna along the way. The guide explains how the cenotes formed geologically as you pedal through the forest.
The ride ends at a hidden cenote—a natural sinkhole filled with crystal clear water. You swim here to cool off after the bike section. The cenote is set inside a cavern, which is where the geological story the guide has been telling becomes visible: you are standing inside the limestone formation itself.
The tour runs four hours total. You ride the full distance on a mountain bike supplied by the operator, with a helmet included. Transport to and from the trailhead happens in an air-conditioned vehicle, so you do not need a car or need to arrange your own way out to the jungle. A guide leads the whole tour and speaks English or Spanish.
What’s included
- Mountain bike and helmet for the ride.
- air-conditioned vehicle transport to the trailhead and back to your hotel.
- guide in English or Spanish throughout the tour.
