A hands-on Mexican cooking class in Costa Maya where you prepare salsa and guacamole at your own station, followed by beach time with a 30-minute massage and open bar. The class runs about two hours and welcomes vegetarians. The massage is available for adults only.

The experience

You arrive and head straight to your own cooking station. The instructor walks you through the essentials of a Mexican kitchen: the technique for roasted salsa, the way to build guacamole, which ingredients matter and why. This is not a demonstration you watch from a stool. You're making the dishes yourself, step by step, learning as you go. You'll prepare both the salsa and guacamole, and the class includes a local beer and these appetizers as you work.

After the cooking class, the day opens up. You move to the beach club, where you have full access to the loungers and facilities. A 30-minute massage with the therapist is included if you want it. The open bar runs the whole time. You can order the house margaritas (tamarind, mango, strawberry or jamaica) or whatever else appeals. You stay on the beach as long as you like. There's no fixed checkout time.
