Horseback riding on a family-run ranch next to Playa Larga beach in Zihuatanejo, combining a ride along the shoreline, through a coconut orchard, and a stop at a small lagoon with a cold drink. The guide leads in English or Spanish, pickup is included, and children from age 3 can ride. Allow two hours for the full outing.

The experience

The ride starts on a small family-run ranch right next to Playa Larga beach. From there you head out along the sand, then turn inland through a majestic coconut orchard before stopping at a small lagoon where the guide brings you a cold drink: soda, beer, or bottled water. The route then loops back to Playa Larga beach for the rest of the ride. Throughout, the guide stays alongside to help you capture photos and steady the moment.

You won't gallop or run the horses. The pace is steady and the guide insists on it for your safety. The whole outing takes around two hours. Pickup is included, so you don't arrange your own transport to the ranch. Children from age 3 can ride, and the ranch is wheelchair accessible if you need to stay on the grounds while others ride.
