The Experience

The guide checked my harness a second time before I stepped onto the first platform. The shops aren't hidden or quiet; they're right there, and vendors will talk to you, and the whole place smells like food and salt water and fresh paint. You walk through it all on your way down to the actual bufadora, where you can stand and watch the water come up. If the timing's right with the tide, you'll see it happen.

The drive back includes a stop at an Ensenada viewpoint where you can see the coastline and the agricultural valleys inland — the kind of view that actually makes sense of where you've been all day.
