The Experience

We were already sweating a little when we hopped out of the cab—Cozumel’s air is thick even before noon, and I could smell salt and sunscreen everywhere. Our guide, Luis, handed out helmets and grinned like he’d done this a thousand times (he probably has). The bikes looked way fancier than mine at home, but honestly, I was just relieved they were electric. The road hugged the coast so close you could hear the waves smacking against stone in these weird syncopated bursts.
