A two-tank boat dive from Acapulco around Roqueta Island, 15 minutes from the resort, with a certified guide in English, Spanish or German, all rental equipment, and a snack break between dives. Divers choose their depth and site based on certification level — the staff matches you to shallow reefs, walls, drifts or wreck dives depending on experience. Pickup from hotels along Acapulco Bay or Zone Diamante is available, or you can meet at the private deck.

The Experience

You leave in the morning for two dives around Roqueta Island and the harbor, where the sites shift between shallow and deep depending on what the guide reads in your log book and certification. The dives vary — some follow walls, others drift through channels, and a few explore a wreck and a labyrinth of rock formations. The staff helps you find the best place to go, so a newly certified diver and someone with fifty dives in their book end up in different water on the same boat.

Between the two tanks you surface, get out of the water, and the crew brings snacks and beverages while you rest on deck. The break gives you time to talk through what you saw and what comes next. Marine life around the island includes eagle rays, puffer fish, blennies, octopus, flutefish, boxfish and seahorses year-round; December through February brings humpback whales into the bay. What you encounter depends on the site, the season and the depth you dive.

All rental equipment comes with you — BCD, regulator, mask, fins and wetsuit — so you only bring your certification card and a log book. The guide is a certified professional who speaks English, Spanish or German. Hotel pickup and drop-off are available from hotels along Acapulco Bay or Zone Diamante if you choose that option at checkout; otherwise you meet the boat at the private deck.
