The experience
Vallée des Couleurs Nature Park spreads across 450 acres and centers on 23 bands of colored earth: a geological feature unique to this part of the world. The park has operated since 1998 as an eco-tourism site, and the day is built around three main activities that let you move through the landscape rather than observe it from a single vantage point. You'll ride a quad bike over the rugged terrain, which means navigating trails yourself at your own pace; then switch to the ziplines, which carry you high above the valley floor; then walk the Nepalese Bridge, a suspended crossing above the forest. Between activities, you'll encounter the park's wildlife: deers, peacocks, giant tortoises, rabbits and birds move through the plateaus, valleys and waterfalls that make up the terrain.
After the activities, the tour moves to Gris Gris Beach on the island's southern tip. This beach has no coral reef, so the ocean arrives in large waves that break directly on the shore with force. A trail behind the parking area leads to a rock formation where the waves hit with particular violence, creating the views the beach is known for. You'll have time to take in the panoramic views and the contrast this wild coastline makes with the calmer beaches elsewhere in the south.
The tour runs 5 to 8 hours depending on how long you spend at each stop. Private transportation picks you up and returns you to your location, with an air-conditioned vehicle and a live guide who speaks English or French. Bottled water and WiFi on board are included.

The full duration runs 5 to 8 hours, which means an early start and a substantial commitment to the activities themselves.

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the Nepalese Bridge at Vallée des Couleurs?
The Nepalese Bridge is a suspended crossing high above the lush forest within the park. You walk across it as part of the day's activities, experiencing the sensation of being suspended in mid-air above the landscape below.
Can I do all three activities (quad biking, ziplining and the bridge) in one day?
Yes, all three are included in the tour. The day is structured around these activities, and you move between them as part of the full-day itinerary.
What makes Gris Gris Beach different from other beaches in Mauritius?
Gris Gris Beach has no coral reef, so the waves break directly on the shore with significant force and noise. This creates a dramatic, wild ocean view that contrasts sharply with the calmer beaches found elsewhere on the island.
