The afternoon takes you to Mont Choisy beach, a short drive from Grand Baie, where the sand stretches quiet and backed by tall casuarina trees. The final stop is Cap Malheureux, a small fishing village ten minutes away, home to the Notre Dame Auxiliatrice Chapel: a Roman Catholic church recognizable by its vivid red roof against the turquoise sea. The name translates to "Unfortunate Cape" for the ships that once floundered on its coast.
