Ile aux Cerfs Catamaran Cruise Mauritius: Snorkel & Lunch
Snorkel the lagoon, lunch aboard, then walk an island in one day
A full-day catamaran cruise from Mauritius explores the eastern lagoon with snorkeling gear, a stop at Grande Rivière Sud Est waterfall, lunch on board, and an hour ashore on Ile aux Cerfs. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, along with breakfast, lunch, snorkeling equipment, and beverages. The boat operates inside the lagoon, so seasickness is not a concern.
The Experience
The day starts with pickup from your hotel at 7:30am and a drive to the embarkation point at Pointe Jérôme in the southeast. The catamaran departs at 9am and sails across what the operator calls Mauritius's best lagoon, covering two of the island's prettiest coastlines on the route east. The protected waters mean the crossing stays calm—no rough seas, no nausea.
Once in the lagoon, you snorkel at one of the island's top spots, then sail to Grande Rivière Sud Est to see the waterfall from the water. By noon, you're back on the catamaran for lunch: grilled fish, grilled chicken, sausage, bread and salad, followed by banana flambéed and pastries. After eating, the boat heads to Ile aux Cerfs, where you have an hour to walk the island and rest before the return journey to Pointe Jérôme, arriving around 4:30pm. A driver then takes you back to your hotel.
Snorkeling equipment is provided, and the guide speaks English and French. Breakfast, lunch, and alcoholic beverages are all included, as is halal food if you request it.

What time does the catamaran leave and when do I get back to my hotel?
The boat departs Pointe Jérôme at 9am and returns there around 4:30pm. Hotel pickup starts at 7:30am, and the driver brings you back to your hotel after the cruise ends, so the full day runs from early morning to late afternoon.
Do I need to bring my own snorkeling gear?
No. Snorkeling equipment is provided on the catamaran, so you only need to bring a swimsuit and towel.
What is Grande Rivière Sud Est and what do I do there?
Grande Rivière Sud Est is a waterfall on the eastern coast. The catamaran sails close to it so you can see it from the water; you don't wade ashore, but view it as part of the cruise route.
How much time do I spend on Ile aux Cerfs?
You have one hour on the island to walk around, swim, or rest before the catamaran returns to the mainland.
Is the water rough, and could I get seasick?
The entire trip happens inside the lagoon on the eastern coast, so the water stays calm and protected. Seasickness is not a typical concern on this route.
What meals and drinks are included?
Breakfast, lunch, and alcoholic beverages are all included. Lunch on the catamaran consists of grilled fish, grilled chicken, sausage, bread, salad, banana flambéed, and pastries. Halal food is available if you notify the operator in advance.
